DMT NEWLY UPDATED STAINLESS set of (4) door window guides /stabilizers for 1970 E Bodies; Barracuda, Challenger WITH 8 special stainless steel, undercut, Phillips head, countersunk screws.
Stainless because who wants to see that rusty s*** in their door.
1970 70 Barracuda, Challenger, Cuda
Note: The “fuzzy” coating IS DIFFERENT than the original parts. It’s actually a better, modern material used by new car manufacturers (we are lucky to be in the Detroit area and have access to knowledagable people and suppliers IN the automotive industry). The original “fuzzy” stuff would have been an expensive task. Only ONE company in Japan makes that kind of material for automotive applications and require a min 30,000ft purchase for a custom product. And it’s not cheap. There are 3 iterations of the E body stabilizers. I wasn’t about to invest $100K so that something hidden in the door “looked” like the old stuff. They did have a very nice Teflon fiber product but the “hair” was a medium brown. Not Black.

Quick history of why/what “stabilizers were used…………
The factory originally used nothing early on in 70
Then added the 70 style with screws on the outside of the door glass
Then ALSO added the 70-71 style that bolts on the inside of the door glass
The reason for adding these is because, as the story goes, senior management was disappointed with door rattle. I have all 4 in my 71 and it sounds like a new car door when closing. No rattles.
Note – these are not meant to rub on the windows but are more of an anti rattle and a guide. I have mine set very close but not rubbing. You’ll see ones that are set too tight because there will be 2″ wide scratch marks on the glass because of dirt in the “hairy” covering over 50 years.
